Missed Call Text-Back
What it is
Missed call text-back sends an automatic SMS to anyone whose call to your business went unanswered, within seconds of the call ending. For contractors it is the cheapest possible fix for the gap between a missed call and a lost job, because it reaches the caller while they still have your number on screen and have not yet dialled the next company.
A missed call leaves no trace the caller can act on. They have to decide whether to leave a voicemail, and most will not. A text arriving seconds later turns a dead end into an open conversation on the channel people actually reply on.
How it works
The mechanism, not the pitch
The call ends unanswered
Busy, no answer, or after hours — all three trigger it. The trigger is the call, not the voicemail, so it fires even when the caller hangs up before the beep.
A text goes out in your name
Short, plain, and written as though you sent it from the van. It names your business, apologises for missing them, and asks what they need.
The reply lands in one inbox
Their answer comes back into a single conversation view alongside your other channels, so a text conversation does not get lost between a personal phone and a business line.
You take it from there, or the agent does
Reply yourself when you have a hand free. Paired with the AI receptionist, the conversation can continue and book the job without you.
Signs you need this
Check these against your own week
- Your call log has more unanswered calls than voicemails — that gap is the whole problem.
- You return calls hours later and hear that the job is already handled.
- You would rather text a customer than call them, and so would they.
- Your after-hours calls currently reach nothing but a recording.
When this is the wrong purchase
This does nothing for a landline you cannot text-enable, and it is a poor fit if the bulk of your inbound comes through a lead marketplace that masks the caller's real number. It also will not save you if the underlying problem is that you are not calling people back at all — automation makes a slow follow-up faster, it does not make an absent one exist.

Questions
About missed call text-back
How fast does the text go out?
Within seconds of the call ending. Speed is the entire mechanism — a text that arrives twenty minutes later competes with whoever the caller has already spoken to.
Is this legal to send without consent?
An immediate reply to someone who just called you is a response to their own contact, not a marketing blast. Where it matters is what comes after: ongoing promotional texting needs proper opt-in, and we set the consent language up rather than leaving you exposed.
Bring your call log. We’ll tell you if this is the right fix.
